About this product

Frames are the whole business here, so a pistol whose frame is not the serialized part deserves a close look. CZ built the DUTY 4.0 around a serialized internal chassis, leaving the fiberglass-reinforced polymer grip frame as a modular component. It is a striker-fired 9x19mm sold as the C compact or the F full-size, with MS versions of each adding a manual thumb safety to the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger bar safety.

For a customer who wants a factory gun beside the frame kits, the rest of the sheet is straightforward. The barrel is 4 inches and unthreaded, the sights are fixed, and the slide is cut for a direct-mount optic; CZ's photos show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield dots in place. The refined SFDA trigger is rated at 25±4 N with a 9±1 mm travel and 4 mm reset. The C holds 15+1 and the F 17+1, both taking two more with the extended base plate. List price from CZ is $729.

Full-size means 17+1 rounds, a grip that takes the whole hand and a frame 5.6 in (143 mm) high. With the longer base plate the count goes to 19+1. Empty weight is 27.7 oz (780 g), which soaks up recoil without making the gun heavy on a belt.

This version has no external safety lever. It relies on three automatic safeties, firing pin block, trigger safety and drawbar safety, and the trigger is the same as on the MS model. Shooters who prefer a lever should pick the MS.

The chassis is serial-numbered and modular, which is CZ's way of making the frame module swappable. The frame itself is fiberglass-reinforced polymer, 1.3 in (33 mm) wide, on a 102 mm barrel and a 7.4 in (188 mm) overall length. The SFDA trigger breaks at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) and resets in 0.16 in (4 mm). Optics mount directly to the slide; the photos from CZ show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield footprints.

Best fit: the belt, the nightstand and the range; the version to buy if you rarely need to hide the gun. Shooters coming from a CZ 75 will recognize the grip angle; buyers coming from any other striker gun will notice the trigger first.

Because the chassis carries a serial number, this one does not ship to your house the way a frame kit does. Give us your FFL dealer at checkout, and the pistol goes to them with tracking. The dealer completes the paperwork and applies your state's rules at pickup, so pick a dealer who takes transfers and ask about their process before you order.

Frequently asked questions

Which part of the DUTY 4.0 is the firearm?
The internal chassis carries the serial number, which is why the polymer grip frame around it can be modular.
Does it use the same slides as the frames you sell?
No. Our frame kits name the Gen 3 slides they fit, and the DUTY 4.0 is a complete CZ pistol with its own slide and barrel already fitted.
How many rounds does the CZ DUTY 4.0 F hold?
17+1 with the standard magazine and 19+1 with the extended base plate.
Can I put a red dot on it?
Yes. The slide is optics-ready with direct mounting; CZ's photos show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield dots fitted.
